The Struggle of Pale Skin

S.O..... One problem I have always had is getting a foundation to match my skin colour! And because I am so pale, if I get the wrong shade I look like an oompa loompa (which is not a good look) and to top it off I have a more yellow toned skin meaning its even harder to find foundation to match my skin, as the majority of pale foundations are pink based.

On one of my fantastic trips to MAC, I asked for their expertise on what foundation I should use, where I found that I had the choice of two..... the lightest two they had! Although they were perfect shade wise, I just don't think I could justify spending £21.50 on Studio Fix Fluid Foundation every time !

So I went on a hunt in Superdrug and came across these three products which I think give me the perfect (pale) skin look!

Item 1

The Collection Lasting Perfection Liquid Concealer in 1-Fair. I had heard great things about this concealer and when I saw that it came in fair I just had to give it a go! It has a nice creamy texture and gives amazing coverage under the eyes and on blemishes. The colour is nice and light which helps to brighten up dark circles under the eyes. Overall I love this product as it is not got a red under tone meaning it doesn't produce an odd colouring !

Item 2

Item number 2 in the Haul in the L'Oréal Infallible Foundation Porcelain 15. I had been eyeing this foundation up for a while in my many trips to Superdrug and as I was searching for a new foundation how could I not buy it?!? When I was trying the different shades, I had a great conversation with one of the staff about my skin and after testing them out Porcelain seemed to be the one for me. Overall I am loving this foundation especially because of the coverage and creamy texture when you apply it to the skin (its a perfect budget alternative to the MAC foundation).

Item 3

I love applying a powder over the top of my foundation to set it in place and because I have very oily skin I need something to counteract this. I have sampled a few powders but usually stick with the Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder. However, for a change I thought I would try the Maybelline Matte Maker in Classic Ivory. This has a nice soft texture and leaves the skin lovely and matt, just what I wanted! Also the Maybelline is a fairer colour compared to the Rimmel so I will be sticking with this one for a while.

Price £3.99

These three items have been my staples for the last few weeks and I have found they created an even skin tone whilst matching the rest of me too (no more orange face wahoo!)

S.O love xoxo
